Trapnoid

The Trapnoid is a model designed in three phases to fabricate a system through use of material experimentation and Parametric Computational designs. The layers represent an interior organ, a skin, and an exoskeleton

Through silicone molds, mesh wiring, acrylic laser cutting, 3d printing, and pigment experimentation, we found an incentive that can be applied to every design aspect of this project with assembly phases for exterior wing movements.

The inner organ in the model is derived through silicone molding replicas of human anatom. With a sealed void within, the model organ is placed inside an exterior skin with a contigency of contact between the skin and organ. The exoskeleton also follows the same contingencies. With the skin and braces, the inner oragan models as a base axis to support wing movement
